A Nigerian woman living in the United States has expressed frustration over the financial and immigration challenges facing some immigrants in the country, saying many who have spent decades in America may still struggle to build substantial savings.
The woman, who shared her concerns in a viral video on social media, said she was “tired of America” because of what she described as the worsening situation for immigrants.

According to her, she has spent more than two decades in the United States but questioned whether many immigrants in her situation could boast of having $100,000 in savings.
“I’m tired of America. The situation is getting worse for the immigrants every day,” she said.
“Majority of us that have been in this country for the last over two decades, can we boast of $100,000 in savings? Ah, omo, we plenty, plenty of us don’t have.”
She explained that her frustration was not necessarily because she wanted to return to Nigeria, but because of the current situation in the US, particularly concerns surrounding immigration.
The woman urged immigrants and their families to stay informed about developments in the country, saying some information about immigration policies and legal issues may not always be widely reported in mainstream news.
She also encouraged immigrants to follow immigration lawyers and other credible sources for updates.
According to her, some Nigerians and other immigrants who have spent decades in the US may have invested significant time, money and resources without achieving the financial security they expected.
“A lot of us that we have been in this country for over two decades, a lot of us wasted time, we wasted money, we wasted resources,” she said.
She further said that returning to Nigeria may not be an easy option for many immigrants, not necessarily because of the desire to remain in America, but because they may lack the financial capacity to start over.
“Going back to Nigeria is not even the problem,” she said. “But a lot of people don’t have that financial capacity to stand.”
The woman also appealed to Nigerians in Africa and Europe to be mindful of the financial pressures on relatives living in the US, particularly those who regularly depend on them for money.
She urged families to reduce financial demands on relatives in America and to understand that living in the US does not automatically mean an individual is financially comfortable.
“A lot of people that you are relying on your family member in America for daily needs and feeding and all of those things in Africa, please, this is not the time to be billing your family member in America,” she said.
She ended her message by urging Nigerians to keep their loved ones in America in their prayers.
