Former Minority Leader of the House Of Representatives and an All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, Farouk Aliyu, says the party will not tolerate the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, calling their governors ‘lazy 419ers.’
Aliyu gave the warning on Thursday while fielding questions in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
He was reacting to the recent feud between the minister and the APC governors.
Recall that the APC governors through their chairman, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, had rejected any alliance that threaten the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu in the forthcoming 2027 general elections and vowed loyalty to the party’s cause.
However, Wike, had in a swift response on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ programme, described the APC governors as “politically lazy.”
But Aliyu warned that the members of the APC will not condone the negative tag.
“We in APC reject this name calling by Wike, calling our governors ‘Lazy, 419.’
“Wike cannot decide for us how we run our campaigns, and it is totally unacceptable for us to any coalition in such a way that, vote for Tinubu and another party. No, no.
“So it is very, very uncalled for someone that is trying to help us now to be insulting members of our party.”
