‘We’ll give Cristiano Ronaldo farewell on one condition’ — Portugal legend, Simões

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Portuguese legend, António Simões has revealed that Portugal will give Cristiano Ronaldo a wonderful farewell ceremony on one condition.

According to the Portuguese media outlet A Bola, Simões made his remarks after reviewing a statement Ronaldo released on Tuesday, which laid out the controversy and the circumstances behind his exit from the national team camp.

According to him, if the Al-Nassr forward wants Portugal to give him a memorable farewell, he must look beyond himself and recognise that goals are not everything.

“A player who has had such a career, who has become a man, must find a way to think beyond himself,” Simões said of Ronaldo.

“Goals are not everything; the game itself is equally important. These values should all be part of him.

“If Ronaldo understands this, we’ll give him a wonderful farewell ceremony.”
