Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has been urged to stand against Gianni Infantino for the FIFA presidency, according to The Guardian.
Wenger currently works as FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development.
The Frenchman has now emerged as a potential candidate as opposition to Infantino grows over his leadership of football’s governing body.
Wenger is yet to confirm his intention to run for the position, and it’s yet to be seen whether he will enter the race.
However, he is under pressure from people who want an alternative to Infantino.
After leaving Arsenal in 2018, Wenger opted not to continue his coaching career and instead joined FIFA.
