Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, has labelled striker Kylian Mbappé as a unique player after the France captain failed to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or.
Recall that Mbappé finished in second position as Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane won the Ballon d'Or in London last Monday.
Speaking ahead of Real Madrid's clash with Racing Santander in the LaLiga on Sunday, Mourinho suggested that Mbappé is the best player in the history of the World Cup.
"Kylian is unique. Some players like Messi, Cristiano, Ronaldo, or Platini have won the Ballon d'Or multiple times," Mourinho said.
"Every year we have a Ballon d'Or, but the best player in the history of the World Cups is only one."
Mbappé is currently the all-time highest goal scorer in FIFA World Cup history with 22 goals.
The former Paris Saint-Germain star won the Golden Boot after finishing as top scorer ahead of Argentina's Lionel Messi.
