What will happen to Argentina as Messi retires – Scaloni

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Argentina head coach, Lionel Scaloni, failed to confirm he will continue in the role after Lionel Messi played his last match for the team.

Messi scored one and laid on two assists as the Albiceleste thrashed Benin Republic 3-0 in the early hours of Wednesday.

After the game, Scaloni was asked about his own future, as his contract enters its final months.

He said: “If all goes to plan, I will continue as Argentina manager.

“It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to manage Leo Messi.

“We will now build with new talents, new young players, we will look at new ways… but I have never seen such aura like Lionel Messi has.

“We will start a new chapter, but what Leo trasmits, that’s impossible to replace.”
