The Delta State Police Command has noted that the nature of present-day security challenges makes cooperation among security and intelligence agencies indispensable.
Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi, stated this on Tuesday when he received participants of the Advanced Defence Intelligence Officers Course (ADIOC) 16/2026 of the Defence Intelligence College, Karu, Abuja, who were on a Nigeria Study Tour (NST).
The 20 participants and senior staff of the college were led by the commandant, Commodore U.N. Bugaje, and were received by the CP and members of the command management team.
Oyeniyi, in his presentation on the course theme, “Strengthening National Resilience Through Integrated, Multi-Agency Coordination and Regional Security Cooperation,” stressed the need for security agencies to work closely, share intelligence promptly and coordinate their responses to security threats.
The CP also highlighted notable achievements recorded by the command, drawing practical examples from its operations to buttress his presentation and demonstrate the gains of intelligence-led policing and inter-agency cooperation in tackling crime across Delta State.
Following the presentation, participants raised key questions bordering on policing, intelligence gathering, crime prevention and security operations, which were addressed by the CP and senior officers of the command.
The visit ended with the command reaffirming its commitment to cooperation with other security and intelligence agencies in the protection of lives and property.
