Elma Aveiro, the sister to Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has claimed that he might not play for the national team again.
Ronaldo was suspended by the football federation after he walked out of camp during the UEFA Nations League.
The 41-year-old was furious with head coach Jorge Jesus for not using him as a substitute in a game against Croatia.
In an explosive statement, Ronaldo accused Jesus of “betrayal”.
Elma has now hinted that Ronaldo might have represented his country for the last time.
When asked whether the Al Nassr forward would return to the national team, she replied: “It’s more likely a NO than a YES. I think they’re both hurt. The situation has stalled.
“When we’re betrayed, it’s very difficult to go back to normal.”
