Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Cape Verde coach, Bubista has insisted that his team showed their identity following their World Cup 3-2 defeat to Argentina in the Round of 32.

Cape Verde ultimately lost against Argentina in extra time after Diney Borges’ own goal.

The encounter in Miami Stadium had ended in a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes, following goals from Lionel Messi and Deroy Duarte.

“We dignify what our country is. We drew twice against the world champions, we took it to extra time,” Bubista said at his post-match interview.

“More than anything, it’s being proud of our players who were dignified in the World Cup. We showed our identity.”

Cape Verde did not lose any of their matches during the group stage as they drew against Spain, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia to qualify for the last-32 stage.
