World Cup final: What Messi told me after Spain beat Argentina – Lamine Yamal

Daily Post about 7 hours 1 mins read

Spain winger, Lamine Yamal, has revealed what Argentina captain, Lionel Messi told him after both teams’ World Cup final on Sunday.

Yamal and Messi shared a moving hug after Spain defeated Argentina to win the World Cup in New Jersey.

Ferran Torres’ extra-time goal gave the La Roja the win against Lionel Scaloni’s side.

Speaking about Messi after the match, Yamal said via Marca, “He’s the greatest player in history and someone I’ve always looked up to.

“After the match, I wanted to show him my respect. He told me to keep following my path and that the future belongs to our generation.

“Those words are worth as much as the gold medal hanging around my neck,” he said.

Yamal currently wears Messi’s iconic number 10 jersey at Barcelona.
