World Cup: ‘I play to make history’ – Mbappe makes demand after France beat Senegal

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

France captain, Kylian Mbappe, has urged his teammates to always maintain composure regarding what they need to do after beating Senegal in the World Cup encounter on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media after France’s 3-1 win over Senegal, Mbappe also insisted that he plays to make history for his country.

A brace from Mbappe and a goal from Bradley Barcola ensured the 2018 World Cup winner defeated Senegal as Ibrahim Mbaye’s goal was not enough for the African side.

“You can never be comfortable in the World Cup. As seen in other matches, winning the first game is very difficult,” Mbappe said.

“I play to make history for my country. But the most important goal is to help France win the World Cup.

“This is just the first match of the group stage. We must always maintain composure regarding what we need to do,” the Real Madrid forward added.

France’s next fixture is against Iraq next Monday, and Mbappe will hope to continue his impressive display for Les Bleus.
