World Cup: Thierry Henry speaks on France’s next coach, sends message to Deschamps

Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

Former France striker, Thierry Henry, has insisted that he knows who is coming next to replace Didier Deschamps as the Les Bleus’ new coach.

Henry also wished Deschamps all the very best in the future as he thanked him for what he has done with the France national team since he took charge in 2012.

The Arsenal legend spoke on Fox Sports after Spain defeated France 2-0 in the World Cup semi-final encounter on Tuesday.

Deschamps had already announced that he would leave his role at the end of the World Cup tournament, with former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane set to replace him as France’s next coach.

“Thank you for what you have done as a coach. Yes, we know the third and fourth place [will be played on Saturday], better to finish third,” Henry said of Deschamps.

“I don’t know what he is going to do next. Zlatan said it, we wish him all the very best. We all know who is coming next [as France’s new coach].”

When Zidane’s name was mentioned, Henry added, “So hopefully you said it. It has not been announced, but look, we all know he is coming next, and we wish him all the best. Deschamps has been outstanding for the national team. All the best Zizou [Zidane],” he added.
