World Cup: ‘We’ll be very sad if you stop’ – Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Messi

Former Sweden striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has sent a passionate message to Argentina captain Lionel Messi after Spain’s World Cup triumph.

Messi, 39, failed to win the World Cup on Sunday after Argentina lost 1-0 against Spain in the final.

However, Ibrahimovic, a former teammate with Messi at Barcelona, urged Messi to continue playing for the Argentina national team.

“I hope he can continue to play as much as possible, so we can enjoy him even more,” Ibrahimovic said on Fox Sports.

“Will we see him in another World Cup? I don’t know, you never know. But we have enjoyed him, and we are happy that he plays the game because we are going to be very sad when he stops playing.”
