Worst regime since democracy- ADC chieftain call out Tinubu Administration

Daily Post about 1 hour 4 mins read

A Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has described the administration of President Bola Tinubu, as the worst to have emerged since the inception of democracy in 1999.

Eze, was reacting to the speech delivered by the President in commemoration of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Day Anniversary.

In a statement on Wednesday, Eze, said, “It was unfortunate that Nigeria is observing her 66th Independence Anniversary with President Tinubu at the helm of affairs.

“An anniversary that is supposed to be an avenue to show gratitude and extol leadership traits of our heroes past who sacrificed a lot to gain independence for us as a nation, has turned to a celebration of chaos, bad governance, insecurity, leadership failure etc.

“This 4-year administration of President Tinubu is the worst and most clueless since the inception of democracy in Nigeria, Eze stated.

He alleged that the little gains achieved by past leaders in the country have been rubbished by the Tinubu administration, whom he described as a good politician but a failure when it comes to democratic governance and people oriented leadership.

“It is sad and unfortunate that the little things we as a country would have loved to celebrate, have been demystified by the government of Tinubu, thereby submerging Nigeria in the murky waters of economic woes and bad governance.

“Instead of celebrating independence, Nigerians are celebrating enslavement by Tinubu through huge and unprecedented borrowing of foreign loans that even our grandchildren maybe incapable of repaying

The ADC Chieftain noted that though Nigeria has been grappling with governance issues, things have gone out of hand since Tinubu assumed office as President.

He insisted that the socio-economic, political security, and infrastructural challenges confronting Nigeria today, are as a result of Tinubu’s myopic and impaired mission.

“What do you expect from a man that stepped into governance on the wrong footing. On the day of his ill-fated inauguration, rather than give Nigerians hope and direction, Tinubu’s preoccupation was how to rule Nigeria for 8 years and possibly actualize a third term ambition, the ADC Chieftain stated.

Speaking against the backdrop of Tinubu’s Independence speech, Eze simply tagged it “a hoax, full of lame excuses, and a celebration of economic woes”.

“President Tinubu’s speech was empty. All the issues confronting this country were sidelined. Imagine, Tinubu mentioning insecurity, only once in his hollow speech. That’s how bad every issue has become in this administration.

“It’s almost four years now, yet the Tinubu administration has continued to blindfold majority of Nigerians with economic projections and false hope.

“The only thing the government knows how to do best, is huge borrowing of loans without any tangible achievement on ground to show for it, Eze posited.

According to Eze, the Tinubu administration has escalated the cost-of-living to a crisis level, with attendant high prices of food, transportation, housing and other essentials putting  pressure on poor Nigerians.

He noted that poverty and declining purchasing power have made a large proportion of Nigerians remain below poverty level due to hyper inflation occasioned by bad economic policies.

The ADC lambasted Tinubu for failing to address the issue of insecurity ravaging the country.

“Banditry, kidnapping, terrorism/insurgency and communal violence have continued to place this country and its citizens on edge. Before farmers have access to the farmlands, the must pay ransom to bandits; worshippers are being kidnapped from Churches and Mosques, NYSC members are also not left out, yet the President is not perturbed.

“Electricity and energy problems, poor infrastructure, weak healthcare system, corruption and weak institutions etc are serious challenges facing Nigeria but this administration has demonstrated lack of vision and capacity to fix the country, Eze said.

He therefore called on Nigerians to vote out Tinubu and his foot soldiers in the forthcoming general elections.
