Xenophobia: We’ll shut down all South African businesses in Nigeria – NANS

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has vowed to shut down all South African businesses in Nigeria.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday against xenophobic attacks on Nigerian citizens in South Africa, NANS said no one has monopoly of violence.

This came against the backdrop of many attacks on Nigerians in the country, especially the broad day killing of a prominent Nigerian merchant, Big Joe, outside his shop in Witbank, Mpumalanga Province.

The association declared that Nigerian students are fully mobilized to shut down and occupy all multi-billion Naira South African businesses operating on Nigerian soil if the slaughter of their kinsmen does not stop immediately.

“We are watching the countdown to the June 30 deadline, and we are sending a direct, loud message to Pretoria. Nobody has the monopoly on violence.

“If the South African government and their compromised police force continue to watch their citizens hunt, shoot, and loot Nigerian nationals, we will bring down their entire economic infrastructure operating in Nigeria,” the students body said.
