Social media activist VeryDarkMan, real name Martins Vincent Otse, has fired back at singer Davido and rapper Zlatan Ibile after a viral video showed Davido singing along to lyrics many believe were aimed at him.
VDM reacted in videos and Instagram stories on Wednesday, after footage from the wedding welcome party of Zlatan in Morocco began circulating online. In the clip, Davido was seen singing along to Zlatan’s lyrics, which fans widely read as a reference to VDM’s past comments about masturbation.
Mocking the singer, VDM said: “I no be David Adeleke wey dey beg woman. I will rather masturbate than make I kneel down dey beg woman.” He also suggested that Zlatan’s new track, “INFERNO”, was effectively a diss song directed at him.
Turning to the rapper, VDM warned: “Zlatan, I dey come now. You will learn the hard way.” He added that he had never hidden his views on the subject and that he had previously spoken about it to create awareness.
In a separate post, he reacted to an X user who claimed Davido once brought him to Lagos and lodged him in a five-star hotel. VDM dismissed the claim and challenged Davido or members of his team to present receipts of any money, flight tickets or hotel bookings.
The exchange comes months after VDM said in July that he turned down a ₦50m offer from Davido to campaign for the singer’s uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, and that the relationship cooled afterwards. Davido has not publicly addressed the claims.
Media personality Oyemykke has since weighed in, urging Davido not to be drawn into the back-and-forth. Neither Davido nor Zlatan has directly responded to VDM’s latest remarks at the time of this report.
