Looking for something to do this weekend? If your ideal Saturday involves staying in, ordering your favourite food, getting comfortable and watching one Nollywood film after another, YouTube has plenty to offer.

One actress whose films are worth adding to that watchlist is Uche Montana. Best known for her work on screen, Uche has also been building a name for herself behind the scenes as a film producer. Through her YouTube channel, Uche Montana TV, she has been bringing more of her own stories directly to viewers, giving Nollywood fans plenty to watch without leaving the sofa.

Her work has also earned recognition beyond her acting roles. At the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), Uche took home the Trailblazer Award, celebrating her growing impact in the Nigerian film industry.

So, if you’re searching for Nigerian films to watch this weekend, here are five Uche Montana films to add to your list.

Second Chances

Uche Montana’s most recent film is a good place to start if you are in the mood for a story about starting over. Starring Uche alongside Bimbo Ademoye and BamBam Olawunmi, the film follows three women whose lives take different turns but eventually become connected.

At the centre of the story are heartbreak, forgiveness and the difficult process of picking yourself up after life does not go according to plan. With three women navigating their own personal struggles, Second Chances gives you plenty of emotional turns to follow.

The Long Way Home

If relationship stories are more your thing, The Long Way Home might be the one to put on next. Uche Montana stars alongside Maurice Sam and Nadia Buari in a story that brings relationships, family secrets and unresolved feelings into the same space.

The film explores what happens when things that have been buried for years start coming back to the surface, forcing people to make difficult choices about love, family and the lives they have built.

Monica 1

Released earlier this year, Monica 1 stars Uche Montana and John Ekanem as a young woman finds herself dealing with betrayal and circumstances that force her to reconsider the life she thought she had.

Monica’s story is about trying to rebuild after being hurt while finding the strength to stand on her own. If you like Nollywood stories where a woman has to navigate difficult circumstances and find her way back to herself, this one belongs on the list.

Monica 2

And if you get to the end of Monica 1 and immediately want to know what happens next, there is a second part waiting for you.

Monica 2 continues Uche Montana and John Ekanem’s story, picking up from the events of the first film. This time, Monica is dealing with the aftermath of everything she has been through while trying to find healing, seek justice and take back control of her life.

Basically, if you are going to start Monica, you might as well clear some space in your weekend for both films.

Beauty is the Beast

For something with a little romance mixed into the family drama, there is Beauty is the Beast. Directed by Tissot Nnachi and produced by Uche Montana, the film stars Uche alongside Kunle Remi.

Uche plays Anthena, a woman whose carefully organised life starts to unravel when her estranged siblings secretly enter her household as domestic staff. What follows is a complicated collision between family history, secrets and her relationship with Azuka, the heir to a real estate business.

It is also one of the films that gives viewers a closer look at Uche Montana’s work as a producer, showing the actress taking on a role behind the camera as well as in front of it.
