Social media activist VeryDarkMan has reacted to a post announcing an upcoming conference, where he claimed that Apostle Arome Osayi was presented as representing the United States.
In a video shared on his social media page, VDM accused Arome of abandoning Nigeria after obtaining US permanent residency and questioned why he was not representing Nigeria at the conference.
“There’s a conference coming up and it shows you’re not representing Nigeria. You wey dem just give residency which day, you don forget your identity, you don dump Nigeria,” VDM said.
He accused Arome of abandoning his Nigerian roots after obtaining US permanent residency and questioned why he would continue ministering to Nigerians.
“You don dump your root, you don’t want to associate with us anymore and na you wan come dey give us healing? Na you wan come dey see vision for us?” he added.
VDM also linked the issue to Arome’s recent teaching on Nigeria’s national calling, in which the cleric contrasted the country’s focus on prayer and revival with China’s technological development.
He criticised the teaching and accused Arome of encouraging young Nigerians to focus on prayer while other countries pursue technology and innovation.
“You people have enslaved our youth with demonic doctrine that’s holding a lot of us back,” VDM said.
VDM further questioned Arome’s teaching on offerings, alleging that the cleric had asked members to rush to the altar with money.
“Come back to your senses, Mr Osayi, clown,” he said.
He also challenged Arome’s Nigerian identity, pointing to his Edo surname and insisting that he remains Nigerian despite his relocation to the US.
“You’re a house slave, you’re a Nigerian man. Osayi is an Edo name, you’re from my state,” VDM added.
