Zone XI Police Command, Osogbo appoints Ojedele new spokesperson

The Nigeria Police Force, Zone XI Command, Osogbo, has appointed SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji as its new Zonal Police Public Relations Officer.

The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Zone XI Command on Wednesday.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone XI expressed confidence in the officer’s capacity to advance the image and vision of the Nigeria Police Force while fostering stronger public trust in policing activities within the zone.

According to the command, “SP Ojedele is an indigene of Oluponna in Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State and brings extensive operational, academic and professional experience to the position.”

The statement noted that the officer graduated with an Upper Credit in Statistics and also holds a Professional Master’s Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies.

SP Ojedele joined the Nigeria Police Force in 2014 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and has served in various capacities in Zone XI Command, Osun State Command and Ondo State Command.

The command stated that he earned recognition during his service for professionalism, dedication and effective service delivery.

Describing him as an experienced intelligence officer, the statement said “he possesses expertise in intelligence-led policing, crime prevention and strategic public relations management.”

The command disclosed that SP Ojedele has participated in several specialised professional courses, including Crime Scene Management and forensic training facilitated by the German Development Corporation, GIZ.

He also underwent advanced training at the Central Planning and Technical Unit of the Police Staff College, Jos, as well as the Police Mobile Force Training College, Ende Hills, Nasarawa State, where he completed combat and tactical programmes.

According to the statement, “his experience also includes serving as a member of the Board of Examiners for Rank and File Promotion Courses and the Board for the Recruitment of Police Constables on several occasions.”

Announcing the appointment, the command said SP Ojedele is “expected to play a key role in deepening collaboration between the Police, the media and members of the public.”

It appealed to media practitioners, stakeholders and residents across the zone to extend their support and cooperation to the new spokesperson in efforts to enhance public safety and security.
