Ukraine — $6.70 billion\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ukraine received approximately $6.70 billion in US foreign assistance, making it the largest recipient for the fourth consecutive fiscal year.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The country received about $5.69 billion in nonmilitary assistance and $1.01 billion in military assistance. Much of the support was linked to the continuing consequences of Russia’s invasion and Ukraine’s need for economic, humanitarian and security support.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the amount was approximately 34.1 per cent lower than the country received in fiscal 2024, according to Pew Research Center.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u003Cstrong>2. Nigeria — $728.8 million\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nigeria received approximately $728.8 million in US foreign assistance, making it the sixth-largest recipient worldwide and the third African country on the list.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The data showed that about $727.4 million, or nearly 99.8 per cent of Nigeria’s total, was classified as nonmilitary assistance. Military assistance amounted to approximately $1.44 million.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The figures indicate that US assistance to Nigeria during the period was overwhelmingly directed towards nonmilitary programmes rather than military support.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ranking does not, on its own, specify how much of the nonmilitary assistance went to individual sectors.
