He stressed that his administration would transfer power to the North after four years.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“I want to assure you that the government we will put in place from May 2027 will be a transitional government of national unity,” Makinde declared, stressing, “It will not last beyond four years.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“My promise to you is we will be sincere in finding solutions to our problems. We will listen to you because solutions can come from anywhere,” the APM presidential candidate said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Also speaking at the town hall meeting, the party’s national leader, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, described Makinde as one of Nigeria’s best brains.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“We in the North East have the numbers to influence who becomes president of Nigeria. The North East will vote massively for you,” Bala Mohammed told Makinde.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The APM governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Abdulrahman Haske, also said he and his fellow the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Benue State, Prof. Sebastine Hon, SAN, has been omitted from the list of candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2027 governorship election.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The list, published on INEC’s portal, contained 12 governorship candidates and their running mates representing different political parties in the state, but excluded Hon and his running mate.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The omission reportedly threw SDP members and supporters into confusion, raising concerns about the absence of their candidate from the electoral commission’s official list.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, Hon, who described the development as an error, expressed confidence that INEC would correct the omission.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He urged his supporters and party members to remain calm, insisting that the situation was not a cause for alarm.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“I believe this is just a minor error. It will be corrected,” Hon stated.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the candidates featured on the INEC portal is the incumbent governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" >\u003C\u002Fdiv>\n\u003Cp>Yemi Kosoko in Jos \u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Plateau State Government have clashed over a N69.5 million fine imposed for alleged violations of Executive Order 003 regulating the display of political posters.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The ADC accused the government and the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) of selective enforcement, alleging that while its campaign posters attracted sanctions, posters bearing the images of Governor Caleb Mutfwang and President Bola Tinubu remained visible on public infrastructure.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Addressing journalists in Jos, the party’s state Publicity Secretary, Silas Audu Wettok, demanded the withdrawal or suspension of the fine pending a transparent review, insisting that regulations should be enforced fairly across all political parties.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“Our objection is not to legitimate regulation, but to the apparent selective enforcement of the order,” he said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The ADC also urged the government to focus more on tackling insecurity, saying the protection of lives and property should receive the same urgency as enforcement actions against political posters.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>However, the Plateau State Government dismissed allegations of bias, maintaining that the directive applies to all parties without exception.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>General Manager of the Plateau Metropolitan Development Agency, Hart Bankat, said 139 posters were removed from the Secretariat Bridge, attracting fines totalling N69.5 million at N500,000 per poster.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>According to him, both the ADC and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been sanctioned under the same order, adding that evidence exists showing the removal of posters bearing the images of Tinubu and Mutfwang from prohibited locations.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“APC have been fined and ADC have also been fined. It is left for them.
