Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

Unidentified assailants have killed a 16-year-old girl, identified as Salomi Ishaya, in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The young girl was returning from a river in Luwaran village, Kawam District, Bassa Local Government Area, when she encountered the assailants.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, in a post on X on Monday, stated that security sources said the incident occurred at about 7 pm on October 4, 2026, when troops of Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), based in Jengre, responded to a report of an attack and killing in the community.

He said, “Troops arrived at the location and found the victim’s corpse, while the suspected assailants had fled the area.”

He explained that the victim’s body was evacuated and deposited at the mortuary of the SDA Hospital Mission in Jengre.

Makama stated that security personnel were working in collaboration with Keystone Security operatives in Jengre to track down and apprehend those responsible for the killing so that they would face the full wrath of the law.

He said investigations into the incident had commenced to ascertain the cause of the attack, adding that the motive for the attack had not been immediately established.
