Senegalese basketball is in mourning after two young players competing in the local league, Mouhamed Diouf, known as MD, and Momar Marigo, lost their lives in a traffic accident in Dakar.
The news of Mouhamed Diouf’s death was announced by ASC Ville de Dakar, where the young point guard played. Nicknamed “MD,” the basketball player was the victim of this accident.
The tragedy also claimed the life of Momar Marigo, a player for US Gorée Basketball. His club also announced his death in a message posted on social media.
A third basketball player is reportedly also involved in the accident. He is Doudou Ndoye, a player for AS Douanes, who is reportedly currently in a coma.
This tragic news has cast a shadow of sadness over Senegalese basketball.
