2026 Ballon d’Or: Top 4 players to win award after World Cup final revealed

Daily Post about 19 hours 1 mins read

The top four players to win this year’s Ballon d’Or have been revealed after the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

Spain are the new champions, after they edged the holders Argentina 1-0 on Sunday night.

Ferran Torres’ strike in the second half of extra time proved to be the winner for La Roja.

Torres reacted quickest to a knockdown from Nico Williams to smash the ball high into the net.

His teammate, Lamine Yamal, is now the favourite to take the prize home later this year.

Polymarket claims the 19-year-old has a 50.8% chance to win the Ballon d’Or award this year.

In second place is England captain, Harry Kane, with 27.1%.

Argentina’s Lionel Messi has given been a 7.5% probability, while France’s Kylian Mbappe has a 3.8% chance.

The Ballon d’Or winner for 2026 will be announced at a gala on October 26.
