England manager, Thomas Tuchel, has claimed they are not among the favourites to win the 2026 World Cup.

The Three Lions are ranked as third favourites by bookmakers, only behind Spain and France.

They have not won a maor trophy since the 1966 edition of the World Cup.

Tuchel, speaking to the media, ahead of England’s final warm-up fixture with Costa Rica on Wednesday, said: “We can’t be one of the favourites as we haven’t won it for so long.

“There are proven winners within the tournament. These are the favourites.

“We can compete for the trophy and dream big. We know what it takes.”

England will compete in Group L alongside Panama, Ghana and Croatia.
