Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure an overwhelming victory in Kaduna State in the 2027 presidential election, declaring that the outcome is already certain.
The governor made the remarks on Tuesday during the flag-off of the 122-kilometre Kaduna–Birnin Gwari Road project, where he also praised the President for what he described as unprecedented investment in Northern Nigeria.
According to Sani, Kaduna remains the political and economic heart of the North, adding that the state’s development benefits the entire region.
“I want to assure you Kaduna is the capital of Northern Nigeria. Everyone is proud of Kaduna. Kaduna’s development is the development for all the states of Northern Nigeria, whether we like it or not,” he said.
The governor thanked Tinubu for recognising Kaduna’s strategic importance and pledged continued political support for the President.
“So we are happy. We are grateful to the president for recognizing that Kaduna is the heart of Northern Nigeria. We’ll continue to show our support. We will continue to support the president.”
Sani went further to predict a resounding electoral victory for Tinubu in the state, saying he was confident the President would receive at least 95 per cent of the votes cast in Kaduna.
“I have no doubt in my mind 2027 election has been concluded. I have no doubt in my mind, we are giving Mr President at least 95% of the total votes. There’s no doubt about that and I stand to be challenged,” he declared.
The governor also reiterated his earlier position that no Nigerian president had undertaken as many development projects in Northern Nigeria as Tinubu.
Recalling a statement he made about two months ago, Sani said no one had been able to dispute his assessment of the President’s record in the region.
“When about two months ago, I came out boldly and I said, ‘No president in the history of Nigeria has done what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done for us here in Northern Nigeria,’ and I challenged everyone to come up with anything contrary to what I’ve said,” he stated.
He said several projects currently being executed across the North demonstrate Tinubu’s commitment to the region and questioned why previous administrations failed to undertake similar interventions.
“Why was it that other leaders did not do what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing today for Northern Nigeria? Was it that Northern Nigeria was not a priority, or that was not their concern?” Sani asked.
He concluded by thanking the President “for the love of the North, for the love for humanity, for the love for progress.”
