2027: Amaechi using mother’s death to play politics, Nigerians won’t pity him – Wike

Daily Post about 3 hours 2 mins read

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has accused the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential running mate, Rotimi Amaechi of using his mother’s death to play politics.

Wike said Amaechi is trying to attract sympathy from Nigerians using his mother’s death.

Last week, Amaechi had accused President Bola Tinubu’s policies of leading to his mother’s death.

The former governor of Rivers State claimed that Tinubu’s tough economic policies made it difficult for him to buy drugs for his mother, a situation that led to her death.

Reacting, Wike said it was unfortunate that Amaechi decided to play politics with his mother’s death.

Addressing some of his followers on Saturday, Wike said: “Again, he said it was Tinubu who killed his mother; it was Tinubu’s administration that made him unable to buy drugs for his mother.

“This was a Speaker for eight years, from 1999 to 2007; this was a governor for eight years, from 2007 to 2015; this was a minister for eight years, from 2015 to 2023.

“Your mother was sick, and you are telling the whole world that because of Tinubu, you could not buy drugs for your mother. I would say you don’t like her life.

“But you have told the world that your wife is an industrialist, yet your industrialist wife couldn’t give you money to buy drugs for your mother.

“Your mother’s burial, the who’s who came with private jets to bury a woman whom you could not buy drugs for because you were taking care of other people while you couldn’t take care of your mother.

“Yet, you didn’t know that you had friends with private jets who would come and bury your mother, whom you could not buy drugs for to survive. You didn’t tell them, ‘My mother was sick. Give me money; let me buy drugs.’

“It’s unfortunate that people can descend so low as to use their mother to play politics. Why? And you say that is a good son? Wherever his mother is, will she be happy?

“Nobody will pity you because they all know that you are telling lies.”
