2027 Elections: “Tinubu Has No Real Challenger, Will Win Easily” — Orji Kalu

InformationNG about 3 hours 2 mins read

Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win re-election comfortably, insisting that the opposition is too divided to pose any serious challenge.

Speaking at an APC gathering, Kalu said Tinubu currently has “no competition” because the opposition is “in tatters.”

He argued that anyone seeking Nigeria’s presidency must build support across the country, noting that no candidate can emerge victorious by relying solely on the South-East or any other single region.

According to him, becoming Nigeria’s president requires securing widespread national acceptance and the constitutional spread of votes.

Kalu said his dream of seeing an Igbo president remains alive but stressed that such an ambition can only be achieved within a united Nigeria and with the backing of other regions.

He urged Nigerians not to be deceived by politicians or social media narratives but to judge the Tinubu administration based on what it has achieved.

Acknowledging the country’s economic hardship, Kalu said the challenges are not unique to Nigeria, noting that countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Ghana and South Africa are also grappling with economic difficulties.

He also appealed for unity within the APC, warning that internal divisions and factionalisation could weaken the party ahead of future elections.

Kalu urged party leaders at the ward, local government, state and zonal levels to properly manage members and resolve grievances, stressing that a united party stands a better chance of retaining power and winning more seats than one distracted by internal crises.
