Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Founder, Solid Rock Kingdom Church, Apostle John Okoriko has advised Nigerians not to give another opportunity to politicians who fail to keep their campaign promises during their first tenure in office.
The Cleric who stated this on Sunday during his monthly interactive session for the month of July themed, ‘’Let God be True and Every Man a Liar,’’ said it was high time politicians began apologizing to Nigerians for their failed campaign promises.
Okoriko who did not mention the names of the politicians that should not be given another opportunity said, ‘’I believe if someone deceives you once, don’t give that person the opportunity to deceive you twice. Circumstances and human nature are built on lies and lies cannot stand the test of time.’’
He regretted that lies have permeated every sector in society such as business, health, politics, religion, marriage as well as the entire affairs of men noting that only true knowledge of Christ and His consciousness would make man live above lies.
Okoriko noted that Nigeria’s leaders lie to the people during election campaigns, deceiving them on plans to rebuild the economy, stop hardship, bring employment and alleviate their suffering through constant electricity, good road network, reduce cost of energy etc unfortunately much is not done when they eventually get to office.
He added, “This is not only applicable to politicians, but religious leaders. If you know you have lied against anybody or promised something you couldn’t fulfill, you can apologize and look forward to fulfil those promises.”
Okoriko stated that the time has come for the church to set the record straight by correcting all lies surrounding religion, politics, businesses and relationships with God.
He traced the origin of lies to past ancient world empires namely Egyptian, Greece, Medo Persia, Assyria, Greece and Romans adding that these empires were founded and operated on lies and falsehood depending on astrologians who told them lies before they all collapsed stressing that every empire whether business or political must collapse when anchored on lies.
