2027: Opposition parties lack ideology, APC exploiting them – Sambo

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The Director of News and Politics Editor at Arise News, Sumner Sambo, has said that opposition political parties in Nigeria lack ideology ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Sambo spoke on Thursday while fielding questions during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time.

He said opposition leaders such as Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi must work harder to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, rather than expecting a peaceful handover of power.

According to him, opposition political parties lack clear and detailed manifestos.

He urged opposition presidential candidates to present robust policies addressing the high cost of governance, the education crisis and infrastructure distribution.

“The APC has seen a laxity in opposition political parties. They lack ideology, and the APC is exploiting them.

“If your elected representatives have ideologies that are driven by the political party, no matter the inducement, they should reject the offers. But there is no overriding ideology,” Sambo said.
