2027: President Tinubu secures overwhelming victory in Osun APC presidential primary

Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recorded a landslide victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election conducted across Osun State, polling 100,880 votes in the exercise held on Saturday.

The outcome of the primary was announced in Osogbo by the state collation officer and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, who said the election was peaceful and orderly across the state.

According to the minister, “Tinubu’s sole challenger, Mr Stanley Osifo, failed to secure any vote during the primary conducted in the 30 local government areas and the Ife East Area Office.”

Oyetola disclosed that “the ruling party had 109,806 digitally registered members in Osun State, while 100,880 members were accredited to participate in the exercise.”

He said the turnout reflected the commitment of party members to the internal democratic process of the APC in the state.

“The exercise was peaceful, transparent, and orderly across Osun State,” Oyetola stated while announcing the result in Osogbo.

He added, “The participation recorded in this primary demonstrates the unity and strength of our party ahead of future electoral contests.”

The minister also urged APC members to remain united and committed as preparations intensify for the Osun governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.

According to him, “The conduct of the primary showed the party’s dedication to democratic values, internal cohesion, and transparent electoral procedures.”

Oyetola noted that the peaceful conduct witnessed across the state underscored the readiness of party members to sustain mobilisation efforts ahead of forthcoming elections.
