2027: Tinubu committed to safer communities, greater Nigeria – Remi assures voters

Daily Post 10 minutes 3 mins read

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on the people of the North-Central to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, insisting that his administration is committed to tackling insecurity, strengthening national unity and building a prosperous Nigeria.

Mrs Tinubu made the call on Saturday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) North-Central zonal campaign rally for the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

She urged party members to rally support for the President, arguing that continuity in leadership would allow his administration to consolidate its economic reforms and development agenda.

The First Lady described Tinubu as a bold leader who could be trusted to steer the country towards prosperity, citing what she said were signs of economic stabilisation, easing foreign exchange pressures, renewed investor interest and increased infrastructure development.

“You can tell people that Mr President is very serious about security, the unity of this nation and the prosperity of the people,” she stated.

She added: “We can see that our economy is stabilising. Foreign exchange is going down, and investors are coming back to Nigeria. Our governors are carrying out infrastructural development like no other time.”

Mrs Tinubu called on party members to vote for continuity, capacity and prosperity, urging them to support all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, who is the North-Central zonal coordinator of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, pledged that the zone would work towards securing Tinubu’s re-election.

Bago described the rally as a demonstration of the party’s political strength in the region, calling it a “test of microphone to tell the world that the North-Central zone is APC 100%”.

He praised the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms, industrialisation drive and infrastructure policies, describing them as unprecedented.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation and political leader of the North-Central zone, Senator George Akume, also called for Tinubu’s re-election, describing him as a leader with the vision and courage to make decisions capable of transforming the country.

Akume said the President’s policies were laying the groundwork for national development and prosperity, adding that another term would allow him to consolidate the reforms.

The APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, separately stressed the importance of party unity ahead of the 2027 elections.

They said the APC remained focused on delivering good governance despite distractions.

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, who chairs the North-Central States Forum, said the region had several reasons to support Tinubu’s re-election.

Other governors from the zone also pledged their support for the President and APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

The North-Central geopolitical zone comprises Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau, Benue, Kogi and Kwara states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
