2027: You’re heading nowhere – Shehu Sani warns candidates affected by Supreme Court ruling

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

A former lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has urged candidates affected by the September 24 Supreme Court ruling on provisions of the Electoral Act, 2026, to reconsider their participation in the race.

Sanu warned that they may be wasting their time and resources.

He stated this in a statement posted on his X handle, where he said supporters of the affected candidates might continue to encourage them to remain in the race despite the legal implications of the ruling.

According to him, the candidates should not be swayed by such encouragement, as their continued participation may not lead to the desired outcome.

“If you are one of those candidates affected by the September Supreme Court ruling, you shouldn’t waste your time and resources.

“Your supporters will continue to beat the drums for you to stay in the race but you are heading to nowhere. We have the experience of losing and winning elections, not as analysts or commentators but as active, frontline participants so we know both sides very well,” Sani said.
