2028 Olympics Qualifier: Comoros coach plots Super Falcons’ defeat

Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

Comoros women’s national team head coach, Yusuf Abdallah, insists his side can beat Nigeria’s Super Falcons in their 2028 Olympic Games qualifier.

The first leg of the second qualifying round tie will hold at the Remo Stars Sports Complex, Ikenne, on Friday (today).

Comoros pummelled Sudan 30-0 on aggregate in the previous round to book a date with Nigeria.

The Super Falcons are however expected to prove a tough nut to crack for the Island nation.

The Comoros gaffer acknowledged the strength of their Nigerian opponents but insisted they can upset the 10-time African champions.

“We are here to play a serious match and give ourselves the best possible chance by making the most of our opportunities. As you know, in football, a match is never won until it has been played,” Abdallah told a press conference in Ikenne.

“It is an important match for everyone, both Nigeria and the Comoros. Of course, if we lose, we will be disappointed, but we are not thinking about defeat.”
