2028 Olympics Qualifier: Eguavoen lauds Super Falcons’ win over Comoros

Daily Post 20 minutes 1 mins read

Super Falcons interim head coach coach Augustine Eguavoen, says his side deserved victory in their clash against Comoros.

The 10-time African champions defeated Comoros 2-0 in the first leg of their 2028 Olympic Games second qualifying round fixture on Friday.

Michelle Alozie and Uchenna Kanu scored the goals for the Super Falcons in the second half.

Eguavoen confessed he was nervous when the game was goalless by half-time.

“I was nervous at the start because it’s an away game, a draw away from home would be good, but for our pedigree and the quality we have, forget the names of the countries, we played them with utmost respect, but first half barren nil-nil was worrisome,” Eguavoen admitted at the post-match briefing

The reverse fixture will hold at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, next Tuesday.
