Mahmud Sadis Buba, popularly known as Al-ajabin Zazzau, has withdrawn from the race to represent Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a withdrawal letter addressed to the Kaduna State chairman of the party and shared on his verified Facebook page on Saturday, Buba said the decision followed reconciliation efforts by party leaders and consultations with stakeholders.

“Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am withdrawing from the race for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, effective immediately,” the letter partly read.

He described the decision as difficult but necessary for the unity and success of the party ahead of the elections.

“I want to thank the leader of our party, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, CON, and the leadership of the party in Kaduna State for the opportunity to have participated in the nomination process.

“The experience has been enriching, and I am grateful for the immense support from my constituents and supporters throughout this journey.”

According to him, backing a single candidate had become important for the APC’s chances at the polls and the continued progress of the constituency and Kaduna State.

“I wish to reaffirm my absolute loyalty and dedication to the APC. My withdrawal is not a sign of weakness, but a sacrifice for the greater good of the party. I assure you that I remain a faithful party member and am committed to working tirelessly to ensure the victory of the party’s consensus candidate and the party at large at the polls.

“I ask my supporters to remain calm, united, and to throw their full weight behind the party’s decision and whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.

Buba’s withdrawal comes amid controversy over his age during the buildup to the primaries.

Prior to his withdrawal, some critics had claimed that he was 16 years old and circulated what they claimed was the data page of his international passport online, despite reports describing him as 30 years old.
