Foldable phones have become some of the most expensive devices on the market, with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 ranking high in the list.
However, buyers do not necessarily have to spend a fortune to get a premium foldable phone. Several competitors offer book-style foldables with large inner displays, flagship processors and advanced cameras for less than Samsung’s latest Fold.

1. Motorola Razr Fold
Motorola’s Razr Fold is one of the newest alternatives to Samsung’s foldable flagship and undercuts the Galaxy Z Fold 7 by about $100.
The phone comes with a large 8.1-inch internal AMOLED display and a 6.6-inch external screen. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and comes with up to 16GB of RAM and a 6,000mAh battery.
The device also supports 80W wired charging and features a triple 50MP rear camera system, including a 3x telephoto camera.
For buyers who want a Samsung-style book-folding design but a lower starting price, the Razr Fold is one of the closest alternatives.
2. Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold
Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold is another major competitor.
The foldable features an 8-inch inner display and is built around Google’s software and Gemini AI features. Google also promotes it as its strongest Pixel device for multitasking and entertainment.
The phone is particularly appealing to users who prioritise Google’s clean Android experience, AI features and camera capabilities while still wanting a large folding display.
It offers a cheaper route into the premium book-style foldable category.
3. HONOR Magic V5
The HONOR Magic V5 is another strong rival to Samsung’s flagship foldable.
It also offers twice the base storage of Samsung’s 256GB model at that price.
The phone features a 7.95-inch internal OLED display, a 6.43-inch external display, Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16GB RAM and a 5,820mAh battery.
Its slim design is another major attraction, while the camera system includes a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide and 64MP telephoto camera.
4. OnePlus Open
Although the OnePlus Open is an older model, its original starting price puts it well below the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The foldable comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It also packs a 4,805mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
Its large foldable display makes it suitable for multitasking, while the generous storage and RAM remain attractive for users who want flagship-level hardware without paying Samsung’s latest Fold prices.
Because it is an older model, however, buyers should check current availability and pricing before purchasing.
5. OPPO Find N5
OPPO’s Find N5 is another premium book-style foldable that costs less than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in markets where it is sold.
The phone launched in Singapore.
One of its biggest selling points is its extremely slim design. OPPO says the Find N5 measures just 8.93mm when folded and 4.21mm when unfolded.
It also comes with a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage and a 5,600mAh battery.
