ADC crisis ends in Kaduna as Ashiru reconciles factional leaders

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State, Hon. Isa Ashiru, has brokered peace among the party’s factional leaders, bringing an end to the leadership crisis that had divided the state chapter.

The reconciliation meeting, which lasted about three hours at Ashiru’s office in Kaduna, brought together factional chairmen and other key stakeholders of the party in the state.

Those in attendance included Elder Patrick Ambut, Ben Bako, Tijjani Mustapha, Bege Katuka, the party’s Zonal Vice Chairman, Hajiya Hafsat Baba, and other stakeholders.

Speaking after the meeting, Ambut commended Ashiru’s leadership and expressed confidence in his ability to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He described the meeting as a turning point for the Kaduna chapter, saying all factions had agreed to work together in the interest of the party.

“The success of the ADC in the forthcoming general elections is our priority, and the issue of factionalisation in Kaduna has now been laid to rest,” Ambut said.

Also speaking, Tijjani Mustapha described the meeting, which was attended by 11 party leaders, as cordial and productive, adding that a communiqué detailing the resolutions reached would be issued soon.

Ben Bako said the leadership crisis within the Kaduna ADC had been resolved, noting that efforts were ongoing to address pending legal matters involving the party.

“Leadership is the ability to unite people and guide them towards a common goal, and that is exactly what has happened here today,” Bako said.

The reconciliation is expected to strengthen internal cohesion within the ADC and improve the party’s preparedness for future political engagements in Kaduna State.
