Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, has revealed the ‘truth’ about goalkeeper Maduka Okoye’s late arrival at the team’s training camp.
Okoye arrived in the Super Eagles camp in Uyo on Thursday, after being granted permission to delay his arrival for personal and family matters.
The Udinese shot-stopper was the final player to join the Super Eagles camp in Uyo ahead of the team’s AFCON qualifier against Madagascar on Friday.
Before his arrival on Thursday, Okoye was spotted with American rapper Cardi B in Milan, Italy.
Speaking to the media about Okoye’s late arrival, Chelle said, “I can tell you the truth. He was supposed to come [earlier], but he had to do some things for his club.
“I will manage the situation and make my decision,” he said.
It’s yet to be seen if Okoye will be in goal for Nigeria against Madagascar, having missed some training sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
