The All Peoples Party-Sobeyaa (APP-Sobeyaa) of Essa Mbye Faal an ardent critic of the government has announced it has concluded agreement with the governing National People’s Party (NPP), “to contribute its principles and values to national development”.
In a statement, APP-Sobeyaa said the decision follows consultations with its prospective alliance partner and stakeholders, although discussions on the proposed political arrangement remain ongoing.
The party said it will officially announce the date and details of the alliance after completing its internal consultations with supporters and stakeholders.
APP-Sobeyaa urged the public and its supporters to rely on official party communications and disregard speculation and misinformation surrounding the proposed alliance.
The party’s head of media, Amfaal Mbye, said the decision is guided by APP-Sobeyaa’s vision for national development, citing priorities including diaspora voting, and constitutional reform, reducing the cost of living, improving civil service welfare, strengthening institutions, agriculture, healthcare and energy.
