The Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, has declared that critics and opposition figures attacking President Bola Tinubu’s administration would be “ashamed” by the outcome of the 2027 general election.

Matawalle stated this yesterday in Sokoto while delivering a solidarity message through his Special Adviser on Politics, Hon. Ibrahim Maigandi Danmalikin Gidan Goga, at a Contact and Sensitisation retreat organised by the Northwest Tinubu/Matawalle Peace and Unity Initiatives.

The minister condemned Tinubu’s critics, describing them as perpetrators of falsehood, lies, mischief and propaganda aimed at tarnishing the President’s image and undermining his administration’s performance.

According to him, the “lies and mischievous propaganda” being spread by these elements would not in any way affect Tinubu’s positive stewardship or the “giant strides and developmental transformations” being recorded across the country.

Matawalle described Tinubu as one of the best leaders with the people’s interest at heart. He said the president has shown selfless service while confronting national challenges, especially insecurity and poor governance inherited from past administrations.

He added that Tinubu has ensured adequate support for the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to confront security challenges bedeviling the nation, with particular attention to the North that was enmeshed in such crises.
