Bago: Niger Will Rid State of Insecurity

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has expressed the determination of the state government to rid the state of insecurity and therefore solicited the support of the people to achieve the objective.

Bago, who made the pledge while exchanging views with the Emir of Kontagora, Alhaji Muhammad Mu’azu Barau, in his palace, said mechanisms had been put in place to ensure a peaceful state.

He appreciated the security agencies in the state for working assiduously to secure the state, adding that their efforts had so far yielded fruitful results before asking them to keep the flag flying.

Bago pleaded with traditional title holders across the state to stop land grabbing, acts he said often led to communal clashes and loss of lives before warning that the administration would no longer tolerate such acts.

With the onset of the rains and the farming season the governor called on farmers to desist from farming on road shoulders to avoid clashes with herders.

Bago also announced   the decision of the government to reconstruct the Kontagora township road to further develop the town in line with his new Niger Agenda.

He commiserated with the Emir and the people of the emirate over the death of the Wazirin Kontagora and prayed Allah to forgive his transgressions.

The Emir appreciated Bago for his foresight in reconstructing the Kontagora township road and other developmental projects being executed in the Emirate and the State at large.
