Ballon d’Or 2026: Vincent Kompany names two favourites to win award

Bayern Munich head coach, Vincent Kompany, has named his two favourites to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

Organisers of the Ballon d’Or have already announced 30 players to contend for this year’s award.

The winner of the Ballon d’Or will be announced next month in London.

However, Kompany has now backed Bayern Munich duo Harry Kane and Michael Olise as his two favourites to win the Ballon d’Or.

Speaking about who should win the Ballon d’Or, Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), “I want my players to be successful, so I will do what every other coach did, I will be one hundred per cent biassed and will say that as long as Harry Kane or Michael Olise win it, then I’m happy.”

“These guys were part of a team that scored 182 goals last season and won so many football matches,” he said.
