Former Barcelona defender, Samuel Umtiti, has criticised Real Madrid striker, Kylian Mbappe over his latest Ballon d’Or comments.
Mbappe recently stated that if he had a vote for the Ballon d’Or, he would vote for himself.
Reacting, Umtiti was not pleased with Mbappe’s comments, insisting that it is not up to the France captain to decide who wins the Ballon d’Or.
He also called on Mbappe to focus on his performances on the pitch.
“Mbappe is a self-assured person. You could say it’s not really his place to talk about who deserves the award,” Umtiti said on RMC’s After Foot.
“He should focus on what happens on the pitch. Everyone has seen that he’s scored lots of goals and performed well at certain times, but it’s not up to him to decide the winner.”
