Ballon d’Or: Belgian football manager, Hein Vanhaezebrouck names player bound to win award

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Belgian football manager, Hein Vanhaezebrouck has expressed his support for Chelsea’s Romeo Lavia to win the Ballon d’Or if he stays injury-free.

Lavia joined Chelsea from Southampton in 2023 and struggled with injuries until last season.

The Belgium international has played 2,144 minutes across 48 games, five of which have come this season.

When asked whether Lavia can win the Ballon d’Or, Vanhaezebrouck, a former Genk manager, said, as quoted by Sport Witness: “If he stays fit, he will become a player who qualifies for that.

“He has it all: good footwork, doesn’t lose the ball, and a low centre of gravity, which means he always turns away well.”
