MultiChoice Nigeria has announced that the 11th season of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) will premiere on Sunday, July 26, 2026, with Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels, Atinuke Ngozi Babatunde, promising a bigger and more exciting edition of Africa’s biggest reality television show.

The announcement comes nine months after Imisi Ayanwale emerged winner of BBNaija Season 10, as organisers unveiled plans for another edition expected to raise the bar in entertainment, competition and audience engagement.

Speaking on the forthcoming season, Babatunde said BBNaija has continued to redefine entertainment on the continent and that the new edition would build on the show’s rich legacy.

“Big Brother Naija has consistently redefined entertainment in Africa by bringing together authentic storytelling, compelling personalities and moments that resonate with millions of viewers. Season 11 builds on that legacy with even bigger stakes, fresh twists and an exciting mix of housemates that will keep audiences engaged from premiere night through to the finale,” she said.

According to MultiChoice, the new season is designed to reconnect audiences with the raw energy that defined the show’s early years while introducing fresh personalities, unexpected twists and compelling storylines.

Since its return in 2017, BBNaija has grown into one of Africa’s most influential entertainment franchises, producing several household names and providing a launchpad for careers in television, film, music, influencing and entrepreneurship. Alumni including Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Bisola Aiyeola, Tobi Bakare, Laycon, Neo Akpofure, Mike Edwards and Tacha have gone on to achieve remarkable success after appearing on the show.

The reality show has also remained one of Nigeria’s biggest cultural exports, consistently dominating conversations across the continent with memorable rivalries, friendships and dramatic moments that attract millions of viewers every season.

The upcoming edition also introduces a new lineup of corporate partners. Sports betting brand betPawa joins the franchise as headline sponsor, while Guinness returns as Gold Sponsor and Minimie comes on board as Associate Sponsor.

Commenting on the partnership, Head of Local Marketing and CSR at betPawa, Borah Omary Ndanyungu, said the company was excited to be associated with one of Africa’s biggest entertainment platforms.

“At betPawa, we believe in creating unforgettable experiences that bring people together through the things they are passionate about. Big Brother Naija is one of Africa’s most celebrated entertainment properties, and we are proud to come on board as Headline Sponsor for Season 11. We look forward to rewarding fans, deepening engagement throughout the season and delivering exciting experiences that complement the energy and excitement of the show,” Ndanyungu said.

Babatunde said the partnerships underscore the enduring appeal and commercial value of the BBNaija brand.

“We are delighted to welcome betPawa as our Headline Sponsor alongside Guinness and Minimie, whose partnership reflects the enduring value and impact of the Big Brother Naija platform,” she added.

The organisers said viewers should expect strategic gameplay, entertaining tasks, dramatic twists and authentic interactions throughout the season, with longtime host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returning to anchor the show.

Season 11 will premiere on Sunday, July 26, 2026, and will air on DStv and GOtv throughout its run.
