The Big Brother Naija Season 11 reality show is entering its final stretch, with 13 housemates remaining in the competition and just two weeks to the grand finale.
The number was reduced following the eviction of Abi and Araga during Sunday’s live eviction show, bringing to an end their respective journeys in the reality television competition.
With the finale fast approaching, the remaining housemates are now battling for places in the final, amid a series of twists and turns introduced by Big Brother.
Barry became the first housemate to secure a place in the grand finale after winning the Week 8 Head of House challenge.
His victory came with additional powers in the week’s eviction process, including the authority to save one housemate from possible eviction.
Barry exercised the power by saving Aikou, leaving 11 housemates facing possible eviction. They were Chimsom Chuka, Sheba, Tram, Bells, Yusuf, Temi Nkem, Ricky, Bluethopia, Oyin, Flora and Keivo.
With Barry and Aikou safe, attention shifted to the remaining housemates as they continued their battle to survive the eviction round and progress towards the finale.
Abi’s eviction brought an end to a campaign that saw her emerge as Head of House twice, in Week 4 and Week 6. She also won the Most Influential Player of the Week title during her stay in the House.
Speaking with host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu after her eviction, Abi said she enjoyed her time in the House despite moments when the experience became overwhelming.
She admitted that she was not prepared to leave the show and return to life outside the House. Abi also said she would not particularly miss the friendship she shared with Flora and Oyin.
Araga was evicted shortly afterwards, ending his seven-week stint on the show.
Reflecting on his experience, Araga said he remained true to himself throughout his time in the House, although he struggled to find his footing during the early weeks of the competition.
He credited Goddessa with helping him through that period and described his relationship with her as one that could develop further outside the House.
On what the future holds for them, Araga said they would see how things unfold, adding that viewers should expect the unexpected.
Meanwhile, Aikou emerged as the Most Influential Player of the Week, earning Biggie Bucks and a betPawa Spin prize, which includes a microwave oven.
With 13 housemates now left and only two weeks to the finale, the competition has entered its decisive phase, with every challenge, nomination and eviction potentially determining who makes it to the final stage of the show.I can also make this more punchy in Vanguard/Potpourri style, with a stronger headline and a more dramatic but still factual lead.
