Several members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Benue State sustained serious injuries on Saturday morning when a bus conveying them to the party’s rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle.

It was gathered that the accident occurred in Lafia, a few kilometres from the venue of the rally.

The number of injured delegates was yet to be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, but they were reportedly evacuated to hospitals in Lafia, the capital, for medical attention.

The development was confirmed by Dan-Morgan Ihomun, State Publicity Secretary of the Austin Agada faction of the APC, who disclosed that no life was lost in the accident.

Ihomun said, “The accident happened in Lafia and it involved two vehicles. But there was no loss of life. Those who sustained injuries have been rushed to the hospital.”

The incident comes months after a similar tragedy involving APC delegates from Benue State travelling to Lafia for a party event.

On March 25, 2026, three delegates from Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State died, while about 10 others sustained injuries when the bus conveying them from Makurdi to Lafia was involved in an accident on their way to attend the APC North-Central Zonal Congress.
