B.I.G. CONFERENCE: Agadia, Layefa renew commitment to youth empowerment

Co-conveners of the B.I.G. Conference, Jane Agadia, an entrepreneur and programmes manager, Tubo Layefa, have restated their commitment to the youth-focused initiative created to equip young people with practical knowledge, exposure, skills and opportunities to help them build meaningful futures.

Agadia also announced the forthcoming launch of her book, The Opportunity Room, which captures lessons, frameworks, templates and insights from her journey of personal growth, career development, building businesses and creating opportunities.

She made this known at the second edition of the B.I.G., Begin, Innovate, Grow, Conference, where more than 300 students, young graduates, entrepreneurs and career professionals gathered in Delta State.

The impact of the conference was reflected in feedback from attendees. One participant, Enifome, described the experience as “an educative, memorable experience,” while commending the speakers, media team, ushers and overall coordination.

Another attendee, Trust O, said the conference left her encouraged to take action towards achieving her goals, saying: “I left the conference feeling encouraged to start taking my own small steps now.” She explained that the sessions challenged her tendency to wait for perfection before making her work public.

Other participants also expressed interest in seeing the initiative expand beyond Delta State, with one attendee suggesting that the programme be held annually and taken to different states to enable more young people to experience it physically.

The B.I.G. Conference 2026 was made possible through the support of partners, sponsors, volunteers and community members, including Skysenx Hub, Rume Visuals, Josef Shots, Prosperous Media, Weefa, Bito Naturals, 19 Internationals, as well as other individuals and brands who contributed to the success of the initiative.

Meanwhile, a major highlight of the conference was the B.I.G. Business Pitch Challenge, which began weeks before the event with multiple stages of application, screening and vetting. Six finalists were selected to pitch their businesses live at the conference, with two winners receiving N150,000 each in grants to support the growth of their businesses.
