Bundesliga: Bayer Leverkusen chief upbeat Boniface will rediscover top form

Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

Bayern Leverkusen sporting director,  Simon Rofles,  believes Victor Boniface can rediscocer his best form at the club, DAILY POST reports.

Boniface spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Werder Bremen after failing to secure a permanent transfer to Serie A giants AC Milan.

The Nigeria international however made just 11 appearances for the Greens as he struggled with knee problems.

The striker has returned to Leverkusen after Werder Bremen failed to take up the option to sign him on a permanent transfer.

Rofles said they will do their best to get Boniface back in top form.

“The knee looks pretty good today. But the weight is a bit of his weak spot. It’s our goal to get him back in top form.

“Then he has a chance to play for many teams,” Rolfes said in an interview with Sport Bild as reported by Rheinpfalz.

Boniface is expected to resume pre-season duty at Leverkusen next week.

He has two years left on his contract with the former Bundesliga champions.
